I reached Bangalore earlier today. It’s surprisingly cold out here! But if you’re out in the sun, it’s a completely different story. The sunlight is sharp and hits the skin hard.
I took the early morning flight, which took off on time (being 10-20 mins off schedule is apparently on-time for them). I’d spent a good 1/2 hour inside the plane, reading today’s Hindustan Times before the plane finally took off. By the time I got done with paper, I realised an hour had passed already. In my boredom, I looked around and my eyes found an ugly guy trying to hit on a fair-skinned foreigner. Something about the way she looked didn’t add up. She wore a pair of big oval shades with a white frame. The kind you would imagine a 70’s diva or Paris Hilton wearing. Then I looked at her shirt..her shirt! She was wearin a clubbing tie on a morning flight! Aye. Catching a quick flight to B’lore after a clubbing session?
On and off, I followed their story. After a loo break, she moved a few seats ahead and like a faithful die-hard never-say-no porky, he followed her there. Going by the way she looked, I’d reckon she was drunk..or atleast sleepy with a major hangover. They had an exchange of words. A few faces around them turned to see what was going on. She pointed her hand to the old seat and the next thing I knew, both came back as if nothing had happened. Most of the remaining flight passed without an incident. All this while in my head I had been imagining different pickup lines on her. Effects of extreme boredom.
I looked around once again and asked myself, “Is there something interesting to read?” No. There wasn’t. I’d already finished reading today’s paper. Thackerey and his antics. I definitely didn’t wanna read that again. While checking my pockets for something to eat, I realised I had my mp3 player with me. My saviour on innumerable occasions.
Then began my musical journey. Each song took me on a different trip across the grass laden lands of imagination. It’s hard to force everything into one post, know what..I’m gonna write another post! To be continued…
